The group was founded as a place for artists to share, practice and progress in their personal study of visual art. Its goal is to encourage potential artists to challenge their creative activity.

In an official statement in the Legislative Assembly, April 8, 2025, Logan Oxenham, MLA for Kirkfield Park, honours our group for its creative work in the community
The 2025 Spring Art Show featured over 30 artists displaying and selling art in a variety of media, with a record-breaking attendance of appreciative supporters.
Many of the artists contributed a painting to our CANADA PROUD theme.
The members of the Norman Art Group have exhibited and sold their paintings at various venues, including the Assiniboine Clinic, the St. James-Assiniboia Library, St. James Kiwanis Village, the Assiniboine Park Conservatory, Great-West Life, the Western Canada Aviation Museum, St. James Anglican Church, and the Sir William Stephenson Library.
In addition to taking an active role in art displays at the Red River Exhibition, members of the group have exhibited throughout Manitoba in Gimli, Wasagaming, Selkirk, Carberry, and Portage La Prairie.
